Volunteer for Film Biz Recycling
Have a day or two off? Film Biz Recycling is a business with enormous momentum and running full steam ahead with a single staff member and unfunded. (Grants and Coprorate Sponsorships are currently sought to remedy that woe.) Until then, we need all the help we can get! It’s kind of fun. Without the countless hours of volunteers from the industry thus far, we would not have been able to divert 32 tons of materials between June 08′ and January 09′.
The work involved is usually going through donations and deciding if they are appropriate for a charity or better for the prop house. For instance and bolt of fabric os better for Materials for the Arts while a velvet pillow os great for the prop house. It’s physical labor, but not back breaking, dusty, but not filthy. We buy you lunch and give you a great, big hug. It feels good, especially after all the full dumpsters you’ve seen in the job.
Have a vehicle?
We donate to many charities but we have to get them there some how! If you’d like to deliver goodies to Homeless and Animal Shelters or Materials for the Arts or any of our other friends in the non-profit sector. Feels great!

Intern for Film Biz Recycling
We are putting together an internship program for 3 students from 3 different schools for the Fall, Spring and Summer sessions. If you are a student and are interested in the intersection of the arts and environmentalism, Film Biz Recycling is for you. You will get an environmental education as well as learn the language, ettiquette and dynamics of the film business. You will be instrumental in building a business catering to the entertainment industy as well as learn and research what alternatives exist for the industry. You’ll also make afternoon tea. No fancy clothes required.
