THE EVENT

The “Voice of the Gowanus” gurgles once again!  Dale Radio returns to Film Biz Recycling for another live taping of the eclectic podcast that’s winning fans up and down the canal.  Join erstwhile host, Dale Seever as he welcomes this episode’s guests: Lauren Sharpe and Peter Glantz.

Lauren Sharpe is a member of the New York Neo-Futurists.  In addition to appearances on Boardwalk Empire and Bored to Death, Sharpe has devised the theatrical project, The Complete and Condensed Stage Directions of Eugene O’Neill Vol. 1, which was recently included in the Eugene O’Neill Festival at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C.

Peter Glantz is a theatre artist and video director based in Providence, RI whose ever-changing group of collaborators is united under the banner of The Imaginary Company.  Among the company’s very real members are Becky Stark, Miranda July, Paper Rad and Andrew W.K..  Glantz’s acclaimed documentary Lightning Bolt – Power of Salad is hailed as one of the most influential DIY rock concert films of all time.

THE SHOW

Dale Radio is an ongoing performance and podcast project by James Bewley. Over the last ten years, Bewley has appeared as his alter ego, Dale Seever in venues across the country including the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco; and various small clubs and cabaret settings in Minneapolis, Chicago, and St. Louis. Since moving to New York he has been featured in comedy nights at Housingworks, KGB Bar, Brooklyn Lyceum, and Dixon Place. Bewley is a co-creator of the award-winning online comedy shorts Strindberg and Helium, for which he provides the depressing baritone of August Strindberg. He lives in Brooklyn, on the foul banks of the Gowanus.

Dale seeks out some of the most interesting emerging cultural voices from Brooklyn and beyond to appear on Dale Radio. Recent guests include Mary Lou Metzger (The Lawrence Welk Show); Ellia Bisker (Sweet Soubrette); Amy Cutler (visual artist); Stephanie Pereira (Kickstarter); Emily Elsen (4 & 20 Blackbirds); Jenna Kim Jones (The Daily Show); Joanna Ebenstein (Morbid Anatomy Library); Camille Harris (singer/comedian, The Muffin Man and The Moon Variety Show); LUMBEROB (musician/playwright); Jessi Klein (SNL, Comedy Central Presents) and many others.
